National Audubon's 126th Christmas Bird Count will be held from Dec 14, 2025 to January 5, 2026!
Audubon partners with Birds Canada, who coordinates all Christmas Bird Counts in Canada. The information from the bird count helps provide crucial data on conservation trends.
Cape Cod birders are welcome to join the count on the outer Cape covering Wellfleet to the Provincetown line. They have 6 distinct sections, 3 on the bay side and 3 on the ocean side. Habitats include ocean, bay, tidal flats, saltmarsh, extensive cattail marsh and shrub swamp, dense coastal thickets, freshwater ponds, and dunes, with great potential for rarities.
