Join the Provincetown Conservation Trust and Herpetologist Scott Smyers in an exploration of Amphibians and Insects at night! Provincetown’s natural areas contain a variety of freshwater wetlands and are important habitats for nearly all of Cape Cod’s amphibians. Many species become active in early spring and return to the wetland or pond they were spawned in to begin another breeding cycle.
Scott will lead us along the Old Colony Nature Pathway as we try to find snakes, frogs, salamanders, and other nighttime creatures.
About Scott Smyers: Scott is President and Senior Scientist at Oxbow Associates, Inc. a wetlands and wildlife consulting company specializing in rare amphibian and reptile study and mitigation. He has studied the behavior and ecology of amphibian and reptile species native to the eastern United States for more than 20 years.
